Srinagar, Dec 29 (KNS): President Employees Joint Action Committee, Chairman JKTF Ab Qayoom Wani has hailed the efforts of State government especially department of education to establish coaching centres for students reading in government schools. By providing coaching facilities to these students Govt has not only created an atmosphere of teaching and learning during winter vacations but the parents of these students have felt a sigh of relief by relieving them of paying huge amount as tuition fee in private coaching centres.
In a statement issued to KNS, Wani urged upon the authorities to make full heating arrangement in Govt schools where these coaching centres have been established so that students and teachers may not face any difficulty. He showed serious concern that the teachers engaged for these coaching centres are being deprived from earned leave benefit which is their right and the Deptt of Education should devise such a mechanism so that Teachers may not be constrained to move round the offices to get this issue resolved.
On one side Qayoom Wani has lauded the efforts of Education Department for providing coaching facilities to students during winter vacations but on the other side Wani has showed serious concern over the non availability of coaching centres in far flung and hilly areas of the valley where students are not in a position to reach coaching centres established by Govt at particular places.
Wani said that most of the students of these areas belong to poor families and they have no access to reach to these places. Due to poverty such students cannot go outside their home to other places for coaching neither can they reach to coaching centres already fixed at particular places due to heavy snow fall in these areas or due to walking many kilometers through hilly areas and dense forests where there is always a threat of wild animals.
Ab Qayoom Wani appealed the teaching fraternity residing in these localities to open coaching centres on volunteer basis and provide coaching to these students during winter vacations. This will not only help these students to complete their syllabus but teachers will do a great work for society and will surely get its reward by Almighty for helping poor students in difficult areas.
Wani hoped that Teachers belonging to these far flung areas will come forward and help these poor students in providing Education so that the poor students may not feel isolated. (KNS)
