Expresses grief over senior journalist, Maqbool Sahil’s demise

Srinagar, Mar 21 (KNS): United Jihad Council (UJC) on Wednesday said that the electing Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai as Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman is commendable step.
In an e-mailed statement issued to KNS, the UJC spokesman Syed Sadaqat Hussain quoted the UJC chief, Syed Salah-ud-din said, “The move to elect Sehrai as TeH chairman will have positive result on the ground.”
He said that “Sehrai’s entire life has been devoted in Islam and the freedom struggle and he has the potential of leadership as well.”
“I hope that under the patronage of Syed Ali Geelani, Sehrai will play pivotal role t take the ongoing freedom movement to its logical conclusion. The Muslim and dedicated leadership can take the movement to its logical conclusion,” he said, adding that since the year 1947 especially 1989, the people of Kashmir have rendered unmatched sacrifices and their sacrifices won’t go waste.
Meanwhile, the UJC chief expressed grief over the demise of senior journalist and writer, Maqbool Sahil who passed away due to the massive cardiac arrest on Tuesday.
He said that “the senior journalist, poet and the author has faced state terrorism but never succumbed.”
The UJC chief prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and also for the courage of bereaved family. (KNS)
