Delay in resolving issues will invite confrontation: Wani

Srinagar, May 19 (KNS): Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) president Abdul Qayoom Wani Friday urged the state government to release pending DA at an earliest besides release of 20% interim relief in favour of state government, public sector and temporary employees before implementation of 7th pay commission.
In a statement issued to KNS, Wani said that the regularization process for temporary employees is going slowly and has caused chaos and confusion among temporary employees.
Wani demanded time bound regularisation in favour of all temporary employees as per the agreement.
He said that the Finance Minister, Haseeb Drabu in a meeting at civil secretariat told him that release of DA, interim relief besides regularisation of temporary employees, pay anomaly and implementation of minimum wages act are under active consideration for resolution.
Drabu also assured that the pending salaries of employees working under different centrally sponsored schemes will be regulated keeping in view the difficulties faced by these employees due to non-payment of salaries.
Wani said that employees don’t want confrontation but unnecessary delay in resolving their long pending demands invites confrontation and any more delay in resolving issues of employees is beyond tolerance because employees have suffered a lot and any more delay will be confronted strongly and the responsibilities shall lie on the shoulders of government.
He later appealed the employees to be united to fight against injustice, delay in resolving issues and for restoration of dignity and honour of the employee fraternity. (KNS)
