Plan to open drug de-addiction Centre in all districts of State in collaboration with J&K Bank: DGP

Jammu, Jan 21 (KNS): Director General of Police Dr. S.P. Vaid inaugurated 10 bedded drug de-addiction centre in Baramulla this afternoon. Dr. Vaid visited the ward and interacted with the patients admitted for treatment. Later on while interacting with the civil society representatives Dr. Vaid said that J&K Police in collaboration with J&K Bank is planning to open drug de-addiction centre in all districts of the State.
DGP Dr. Vaid was accompanied by ADGP Munir Ahmad Khan, IGP Armed/IRP S A Mujtaba, DIG NKR V K Birdi and other senior Police officers .
During the interaction Dr. Vaid sought cooperation of all the people particularly lawyers in getting the drug peddlers punished. He said that the menace of drugs is eating energies of youth and we have to give a collective response to save younger generation.
Earlier in his welcome address SSP Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain highlighted the role of drug de-addiction centre Baramulla in fighting menace of drugs.
Representatives of civil society of Baramulla thanked the DGP for opening drug de-addiction centre. They appreciated the role of J&K Police in fight against the menace of drugs. (KNS)
