Srinagar, Nov 20 (KNS): Drugs and Chemists Association of Handwara today held a one-day seminar about the use and abuse of drugs.
Addressing the participants, Assistant Director Drug Control for Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora Bashir Ahmad warned that those chemists and druggists who are selling over the counter drugs including narcotics to the youth and the people will be taken to task.
“Their licence will be cancelled by the department once they are found involved in such illegal practice to mint money from youth,” he said.
SDPO Handwara, Shabir Ahmad Khan, said that the DGP has declared 2017 as making Jammu and Kashmir ‘drug-free’ state.
“Police is taking action against drug addicts and smugglers, and has even slapped Public Safety Act against those found involved in such illegal activities,” Khan said, adding that those people indulging in abuse of drugs and smuggling it will not be spared by law enforcing agencies. (KNS)
