Dr Farooq writes PM Modi, urges him to restore 4G internet facility

Srinagar, Mar 19 (KNS): National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Thursday wrote letter to PM Modi and urged him to restore high speed internet services in J&K amid Corona Virus scare situation.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Abdullah who is also sitting MP, wrote “As you aware, the first case of Corona Virus has been detected in Kashmir yesterday which has resulted in authorities locking down large parts of Kashmir Valley. Business and students already hit hard by the shutdown after August, 5 2019 are again suffering because of these restrictions. The people are being advised to work/study from home but this is impossible with 2G internet speed and limited fixed line internet penetration. I would therefore request you to restore 4G internet services in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest to ease the sufferings of the people”.

It is pertinent to mention that Abdullah who was detained hours before when BJP government at centre scrapped Article 370 last year, was released on March 13 after seven months of incarceration. (KNS)
