Dr Farooq, Omar express grief over demise of noted Islamic scholar, preacher Moulana Mushtaq Ahmad khan

Srinagar, Feb 19 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference party president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah on Tuesday expressed grief over the demise of noted Islamic scholar, prominent religious personality of south Kashmir Moulana Mushtaq Ahmad Khan of Seer Hamdaan.
Dr Farooq while expressing grief said, “My thoughts and sympathies are with the grief stricken family. I pray for peace to the soul of departed and strength to the grieved family,” he said adding, “Moulana’s death has created a void in the literary circles of Kashmir. His penchant for Islamic teachings and commitment to the mission of Sufis will be remembered for the times to come.”
Vice president Omar Abdullah while extending condolences to the family, friends and admirers of departed religious leader said, “Late Moulana’s scholarly attainments and public speaking had earned him fame across the state. I pray for peace to the soul of departed and strength to the grief-stricken family.”
Meanwhile party General secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar additional general secretary Dr sheikh Mustufa Kamal, Provincila President Nasir Aslam Wani, state secretary Sakina Itoo, party’s south zone president Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri, District president Kulgam Advocate Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, district president Altaf Ahmad Kaloo, and party’s Provincial Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also expressed grief over the demise of noted scholar and have prayed for peace to the departed soul.
