Kangan, Jun 08 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Faroooq Abdullah on Saturday said the people of the state have to make a rational choice for the greater interests of the state in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing a mammoth gathering of devotees at Baba Nagri Kangan, party president said, “Forces as are inimical to the interests of the state will use all possible means to influence the process of elections. However during the just concluded elections to parliament we the people audaciously dispirited the resolve of such forces. We have won the first battle but the biggest battle is ahead of us, we should not let complacency overwhelm us. The state is facing a perilous situation in the wake of numerous attacks on its identity, and unity. But by not letting the demon of disunity divide us we can take such forces head on.”
Extolling the role of Mian Altaf for his efforts towards making the party stronger Dr. Farooq said, “I am grateful to Mian Sahib for his endeavor in making the win of party’s parliamentary candidates possible. The role played by the Mian Sahib and the Gujjar community in the just concluded parliament elections is worth appreciation. I am sure that Mian sahib will continue to work with the same zeal. I take this opportunity to urge you to not be complacent; the need of the hour requires unity and hard work. We have a laborious task ahead of us, on one hand we have to put the state back on the track on development and the other hand we have to protect the interests of the state, “adding, “In the coming days we all have to make the party’s candidates successful from all the seats of state. I pray for long life of Mian Bashir Ud Din Sahib. I am hopeful that his scholarly disposition and acquaintance with Islam will guide our steps. I am positively hopeful that the high-spirited Gujjar community under the leadership of Mian Sahib the momentum of Parliament elections will carry on in Assembly elections.”
Exuding confidence into the people Party president said that Islam was a great religion that teaches us to devote our exclusive attention to fulfilling our duties to Almighty and to our fellow beings. “Let me tell you that one who reposes his or her faith in Allah Almighty and his Prophet (PBUH) no one can harm you. If Allah intends good for us, then none can repel his favor which he causes to reach whom he wills among his servants. He is all pardoning and merciful,” he said, “Good, evil, benefit and harm only comes from Allah alone and no one has power over these things. So we should trust Him alone and continue with our struggle. Allah destroyed the entire non-compliant and spiteful person like Namrood and Pheroun. Inshallah he will destroy the contemporary Namroods and Pherouns too. I pray to Almighty Allah to save our state from the political shenanigans of evil forces. I ask for his mercy and forgiveness.”
Dr Farooq payed Obeisance at the Shrine of Hazrat Nizam Ud Din Kiyanwi Naqashbandi (RA) on his 124th Urs and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the state.
On the occasion Sajada Nisheen Dargha Baba Nizam Ud Din Kiyanwi (RA) Mian Bashir Ud Din highlighted the role of Sufis in shaping the Muslim world. In his address to the devotees he exhorted them to follow the Quran and the Holy Sunnah of Holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH). On the occasion Senior National Conference Leader, Former MLA Kangan Mian Altaf also addressed the devotees who had thronged the shrine from all parts of the state. The Urs saw huge participation of people various parts of the country. The occasion was adorned by the presence of various reputed Islamic Scholars as well. (KNS)
