Expresses grief over the demise of renowned religious scholar Sheikh Mubarak Sahib


Srinagar, 04 July:(KNS) Jammu and Kashmir National Conference party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Saturday extended greetings to people on the annual Urs celebration of Jami Ul Kamalaat Hazrat Sheikh Yaqoob Sarfi (RA).

Party president while greeting people said, “Hazrat Sheikh Yaqoob Sarfi (RA) was the biggest polymath of his times. He mastered various streams of literature, linguists and Islamic knowledge. He also acquired a prominent position in the political history of Kashmir. On this day I pay my tributes to the great son of the soil, May Almighty guide our steps with the teachings of such great men as Hazrat Ishaan Sahib (RA).”

Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal; senior leader Mubarak Gul, have also greeted people on the annual Urs observance of Hazrat Ishaan Sahib with a view that the day increases the prospects of peace and prosperity in Kashmir.

Meanwhile Dr Farooq expressed sorrow over the demise of renowned religious scholar from South Kashmir and Imam and Khateeb of Jama Masjid ‘Raahat Dedi’ Anantnag, Moulana Sheikh Mubarak Sahib who passed away the other day. While paying rich tributes to Moulana Mubarak Sahib, party president said that Ulema are the guardians, transmitters and interpreters of knowledge, and Molana Sahibs persona mirrored these qualities. A leading Scholar, his demise has created a void in literary circles of Kashmir. I pay my earnest tributes to him. I pray to Almighty to bestow upon him the highest echelons in Jannah,” he said.

Party’s Member of Parliament Hasnain Masoodi, District President Anantnag Altaf Kaloo, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also expressed grief over the demise of Molana Sahib, prayed for peace to his soul and expressed solidarity with the mournful followers, associates and family members of his.(KNS)
