Srinagar, Jan 20 (KNS): Praising Congress President Rahul Gandhi for re-appointing G.A. Mir as President of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee for second term, District Congress Committee Srinagar while greeting Mir described him as a dedicated, hardworking and visionary political leader of the state.
Addressing the meeting of Senior Party Functionaries and workers from entire District Srinagar, Abdul Gani Khan praised Rahul Gandhi for taking a right decision at a right time, as that, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee needed G.A. Mir so badly, for the fact, he (Mir) has invigorated he Party in all the three regions of the State, as a result, Congress Party is a vibrant situation in the State.
Referring to the escalation in tension on Indo Pak Border, District Congress Committee calls for peace and urged upon Government of India to ensure safety of civilians who are suffering immensely due to ceasefire violation for some time. Expressing serious concern over the issues confronting people in the valley due to harsh winter, Abdul Gani Khan urged upon the Government to ensure adequate supply of Power Supply, as that, the irregular power supply especially in morning and evening times causing great inconvenience to people.
Adding that Congress Party under the leadership of G.A. Mir is strong enough, Abdul Gani Khan urged upon the Party cadres to gear up for the forthcoming panchayat elections and ensure that Congress Party emerges more strong in these elections.
He also cautioned the party workers about the misadventures of certain Forces aiming to create divisions in the State for personal benefit, urging upon them to defeat their nefarious designs and ensure that unity and brotherhood in the State is not harmed. (KNS)
