Disruption in healthcare services 'biggest crime': MS DH Baramulla

Baramulla, Sept 07 (KNS): MS District Hospital Baramulla Dr Syed Masood Monday denounced the vandalism carried out by relatives of a pregnant lady who died in Srinagar hospital after shifted from here and said disruption in healthcare services is a “biggest crime”.

Dr Masood while talking to KNS termed the act “condemnable” and dubed the involved “irresponsible”.

“The deceased lady, who was 6-months pregnant, was brought here four days back but when she was shifted to Srinagar hospital she died there unfortunately”, Dr Masood said. He said soon after her death, relatives of the deceased reached hospital and created vandalism which led havoc in the healthcare centre.

Dr Masood claimed those damaged hospital property have “history” of vandalism. “They beat our employees, damaged our property, create ruckus and put obstacle in healthcare services”, he said

Terming disruption in healthcare services a “biggest crime”, MS DH Baramulla said hospital authorities have registered an FIR for further course of action.

He appealed general public to cooperate fully with doctors and other associated staff for smooth functioning of healthcare services.

When asked whether hospital authorities will approach authorities for security, Dr Masood rejected and said “This is healthcare centre, people are visiting here to get treated. This is not a border where we use force”, he said. (KNS)
