Director Horticulture reviews progress of MIDH scheme

Srinagar, Feb 20 (KNS): Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today convened meeting of Joint Inspection Team at Directorate here at Rajbagh to review progress of establishment of controlled atmospheric storage units and food processing units under 'Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture', a centrally sponsored scheme.
The director emphasized upon the JIT to strictly follow guidelines and norms of MIDH scheme for establishment of the projects and provide all possible help to unit owners to boost horticulture entrepreneurs.
The director visited Horticulture Fruit Plant Nurseries at Zakura and Harwan to take stock of production of quality plant material.
The director asked the staff to work with dedication and diversify production of fruit plants including peach, plum, apricot, high density apple and the mandated grafted walnut plants to meet demands of urban areas of Srinagar.
The director issued instructions to the officers to manage and utilise the available manpower and be regular and punctual to their duty. (KNS)
