Srinagar, Feb 23 (KNS): PDP senior leader Nizam-u-Din Bhat said that the government should devise a mechanism to address genuine demands of employees so that a situation and time does not arise where the employees strike work and go on agitations.
“Agitations and suspending work by the government employees dilute discipline of the governance system and public delivery is also negatively affected. So the need of the hour is of a mechanism where the genuine demands of the employees are addressed smoothly within the system, without the latter resorting to agitations,” Bhat said.
“Employees are limbs and wheels of the government system and redressing their distress problems is responsibility of the establishment,” he said.
He appealed the government to address the genuine demands of the Patwaris, Girdawars and other employees associations who are protesting to get their demands redressed.
Among other demands, the agitating revenue employees demand grade pay of Graduate Patwaris from 2400 to 2800, timely DPC of Patwaris and Girdawaries not conducted from last 4 years, creation of Patwar Halqas and functioning of departmental enquiry cell which was constituted by Government. (KNS)
