Visits One day Flower exhibition at Rajbagh along with students

Srinagar, Mar 17 (KNS): Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah and Director School Education Dr. G.N. Itoo today along with hundreds of students visited One Day Flower Exhibition at Floriculture Mandi at Rajbagh organized by Department of Floriculture. On the occasion Secretary Education said that on one hand, for the effective teaching learning process there should be feasible environment in the schools, on the other hand the introduction of Herbal Gardens in the Schools will also help in the cause and also the fragrance of flowers will add to the healthy development of students.
Speaking about the scheme of Herbal Gardens in the schools, Secretary Education directed all those Head of the Institutions where there is availability of land for the development of herbal gardens in their schools to take necessary steps in this regard. He said herbal gardens and the cultivation of flowers will make the environment clean in the schools. He added that we brought our students today here to develop interest in them to cultivate flowers.
On the occasion Secretary Education and Director School Education Kashmir visited stalls presented by registered gardeners of Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla and other districts. They along with students obtained knowledge about different flowers displayed on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that Secretary Education and Director School Education Kashmir were accompanied by the students and Head of the Institutions of GHSS Amira Kadal and BHSS Jawahar Nagar and many other senior officers of the Department. (KNS)
