Despite passing of month, Radio Kashmir Srinagar officials failed to overhaul 300 KW Narbal Transmission Tower

Srinagar, Nov 03 (KNS): Despite made assurance to restore Narbal Transmission Tower by concerned officials, the broadcastings of Radio Kashmir Srinagar have been off the air from one month. Sources said, the concerned engineers had visiting homes to celebrate Diwali but has not returned yet.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the broadcastings of Radio Kashmir Srinagar, now ‘Aakashwani’ is reportedly off the air from last one month. Reports said that the 300 KiloWatt Narbal Transmission Tower has been defunct since a month due a technical fault. It said, though the authorities had already been informed about the problem, but despite passing of one month no action has been taken in this regard.

Kashmir News Service (KNS) on October, 22 had reported this news and communicated the concerned Deputy Director General Engineering Deepa Rani then who admitted the technical fault and assured the issue would be resolved within a day or two. She had claimed that department has approached Mumbai and Delhi to hire technical support and soon the issue will be resolved.

However despite passing of one month, concerned officials have failed to repair 300 KW Narbal Transmission Tower. Sources said, since one month public and social programs from ‘Aakashwani’ have been badly affected due to technical snag.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), sources added, though department has good number of technical staff on books but they are unable to take on the situation. They further added, the concerned engineers had visiting homes to celebrate Diwali but has not returned to their duties so far which ultimately affected the broadcastings in rural areas like Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Reasi.
