Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNS): One day session of Teachers Joint Action Committee was held at Head Office of TJAC under the chair of President EJAC, Chairman Teachers Joint Action Committee Ab Qayoom Wani.
In the meeting all the leaders showed their serious concern and resentment over continuous delay in resolving the legitimate demands of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters.
The leaders in one voice said that the teaching fraternity especially SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters are unnecessarily put to trouble by the Govt. from time to time having their no fault.
In the meeting President EJAC, Chairman TJAC Ab Qayoom Wani said that while implementing the 7th Pay Commission the state Govt. showed double standard by depriving 40,000 nation builders from the benefit of 7th Pay Commission and in implementing the 7th pay commission, and for the last two three years the nation builders are continuously on the roads that too for regulation of their salaries which is shameful and unfortunate.
Wani said that the leaders of TJAC always showed their positive approach and represented the issues before the authorities at the Helm of affairs in a legal and democratic way but the authorities have always taken the positive approach of teaching fraternity as our weakness.
Teaching fraternity never wanted to be on the roads but always opted to be in the classes for the better tomorrow but depriving 40,000 SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters from the benefits of 7th Pay Commission has put all the teaching fraternity in mental trauma which is adversely affecting the academics of our students.
EJAC President said that our first and for most demand is salary with 7th Pay Commission and salary according to 6thpay commission is totally unacceptable to 40000 nation builders. We want immediate end to step motherly treatment to teaching fraternity.
The leaders of TJAC urged upon Governor of the state N. N Vohra, Advisors to Governor B B Viyas, Khursheed Ahmad Ganie, Chief Secretary B.V Subramanyium, Secretary School Education Rigzian Sampheal to resolve this sensitive issue at an earliest so that Teachers may not be compelled to intensify their agitation adapt agitation path otherwise TJAC has decided to hold a peaceful candle light march from press colony Srinagar to Raj Bhawan on 17th August after magrib prayers in which exclusively 100 top brass leaders of TJAC will participate.
If Govt failed to resolve the issue then Teachers Joint Action Committee will go for indefinite hunger strike from 30th of August and the responsibility shall lie on the shoulders of the Government.
President EJAC, Chairman TJAC Ab Qayoom Wani urged upon the teaching fraternity to show discipline at all circumstances and follow the programme of TJAC in letter and spirit at grass root level. The leaders of TJAC have been asked to remain in touch with the teaching fraternity to make the programmes of TJAC successful at gross root level. (KNS)
