All Party meet on February 4 at Panchayat Bhawan Jammu

Srinagar, Feb 02 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir government has slated the All Party Meet for February 4 to discuss the deferment in the conduction of the Panchayat polls in the state due to worrisome security scenario.
Government sources told KNS that the meeting instead of February 3 will now be held on February 4, this year at Panchayat Bhawan, Jammu. The meeting will be chaired by the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti herself. Reports inform that all pro-establishment political parties are attending the scheduled meet at Jammu.
The government earlier had announced the conduction of the Panchayat polls across Jammu and Kashmir on February 15, this year, however the worrisome situation as per the reports, is compelling the government to defer the polls.
The Rural Development Minister Abdul Haq Khan had earlier stated that the government is mulling to defer the polls and is calling the All Party meet to discuss the issue and take decision in this regard unanimously.
The opposition parties including Congress had pitched for the participation of the chief minister in the meet, stating that she alone can chair it and not any other minister of the incumbent regime. (KNS)
