Srinagar, Nov 16 (KNS): Normal life across Kashmir Valley is gradually returning to normalcy with most shops and business establishments remaining open on Saturday.

Public traffic has also started plying on different routes across Srinagar district and other towns of Kashmir resulting in traffic jams at several places. Also intra-Kashmir train service has also started chugging on Baramulla to Srinagar track.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), after 104 days of spontaneous shutdown against New Delhi’s decision to scrap special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370, normal life across Kashmir Valley has started to stabilize with shops and business establishments in commercial hub Lal Chowk and adjoining areas reopening.

In south Kashmir districts of Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian and Pulwama, situation remained peaceful throughout the day, a police official said. Shopkeepers opened shutters at several places in the south and both private and public transport was plying normally.

Similar reports were received from north Kashmir districts of Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora. Reports said the highway leading to frontier district Kupwara from Srinagar remained packed with vehicles throughout the day.

However, despite the situation gradually improving, authorities are tight lipped over the resumption of prepaid mobile and internet services in the Valley. (KNS)
