Says, these elections look ‘suspicious’ to people

Srinagar, Sep 20 (KNS): A meeting of Executive Body of Democratic Nationalist Party (DPN) was held and chaired by the president DPN Gh Hassan Mir. The meeting discussed present scenario of the state in view of elections.
According to statement issued to KNS, The DPN said that it believes in the grass root democracy and has firm commitment in the empowerment of people.
The participating in the elections would be welcome but the deferment of case in the SC on the pretext of the local elections on the request of the Government has raised fingers on the intention of the Government of India viz Art 35A.
The people look these elections with suspicion and are not showing any interest. The main local parties NC, PDP CPI(M), PDF and other parties have decided not to participate in these elections. In view of this our party decides to be with the people and not to participate in the elections. (KNS)
