Budgam, July 01:(KNS) District Magistrate Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza (KAS) today convened a meeting of religious scholars, aimas, mufties of various jamia masajids, dargas located across District Budgam. While addressing the meeting the DM said, aim of conducting this meeting is to apprise the participants, to kindly adhere the instructions envisaged under lockdown guidelines and ensure that no gathering of any kind shall assemble in any mosques or shrines in District Budgam. He said these steps have been taken to control the spread of this deadly COVID-19 disease. As aimas are respected citizens all over, they shall impart guidance and ensure that people abide by all norms & maintain social distance. During the interaction many aimas put forth some issues relating to clarification of guidelines and the measures to be taken to contain spread of Covid-19 virus. The DM urged upon Imams to coordinate and cooperate with the village level committees already set up for the purpose of creating massive awareness people regarding do’s and don'ts of covid-19 pandemic. The DM further instructed all SDMs to conduct public awareness programme on COVID-19 pandemic in concerned division of the District. The DM emphasized that, ‘‘As responsible citizens of the society, everyone has to come forward and show an element of discipline and sense of responsibility in fighting war against Covid-19 pandemic. All ulmas/muftis present during the meeting assured the DM of following all guidelines and instructions which were discussed in the meeting.(KNS)
