DHSK, IRP 20th Battalion organizes Free Medical Camp at Parihaspora

Srinagar, Mar 17 (KNS): J&K Armed Police in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir today organized Mega Health Camp at 20th Battalion Parihaspora, Pattan. The camp was organized to provide basic as well as specialist health care services along with laboratory investigation & free drugs to the general public of area. The services included General Medicine, Cardiology, Gynecology, ENT, Psychiatry, Oral and Paediatric healthcare services. More than 1400 patients availed these services. Around 390 persons were screened for Diabetes and Hypertension, out of which 27 were found suspected for Diabetes and 57 for Hypertension.
The camp was jointly inaugurated by Dr. Saleem ur Rehman, Director Health Services, Kashmir and S. A. Watali, Inspector General, J&K Armed Police. Dr. Saleem ur Rehman, DHSK in his inaugural speech stressed the need of organizing such camps regularly under preventive measures.
S. A. Watali, IG JK Armed Police laid stress on making healthcare services accessible to general public at their doorsteps and appreciated the organizers including Mr. B. A. Samoon, Commandant, 20th IRP Battalion, Dr. Bashir Chalkoo, Chief Medical Officer, Baramulla and Dr. Manzoor, Block Medical Officer, Pattan along with other staff for making the camp a great.
Dr. Bashir Chalkoo, CMO Baramulla in his concluding speech apprised the public about the services being provided by the health department under various schemes/programmes which a common man can avail. He also apprised about the achievements of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir. (KNS)
