Chairperson PWWA to inaugurate workshop to stop cruelty against animals

Jammu, Mar 02 (KNS): Director General of Police Dr. S.P Vaid will inaugurate a pet fashion show/Dog show on Sunday at Gulshan Ground here, while a workshop on “Stop cruelty against animals” will be inaugurated by Chairperson Police Wives Welfare Association(PWWA) Mrs. Bharti Vaid at the same venue.
The event is being organised by SUVIDHA- A society for upliftment and value to indigenous Animals, Health and Agriculture. The organization is working to improve health of animals and stop cruelty against them.
The aim of these programmes is to bring awareness among the people about the pets and their health. More than 200 pets will be participating in the show. Major emphasis would be given to conserve the indigenous breeds. which are on the verge of extinction, so that more of indigenous breeds are reared or kept as pet. Besides, such events bring people close to animals.
Main highlights of the show will be free anti rabies vaccine, deworming, ticks treatment and free health checkup with sampling for pets.
A handout, which contains articles written by veterinarians and writers regarding the pet health, nutrition and their role in human life, will also be launched on the occasion. (KNS)
