Srinagar, Aug 20 (KNS): Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid has granted scholarships of rupees 11 lac in favour of 195 wards of police personnel. The scholarships have been granted out of Central Police Welfare fund for the academic year 2017-2018.
Rupees 5.32 lac have been sanctioned in favour of 104 wards of class 10th and rupees 5.68 lac for 91 wards of class 12th for securing eighty percent and above marks in their respective examinations during the academic session 2017-2018. These wards include 106 girl students of twin classes.
Students of class 10th securing above ninety per cent marks are granted scholarship of rupees six thousand and the students with eighty per cent and above marks are granted rupees four thousand each. Similarly the wards of class 12th securing above ninety per cent marks are given rupees seventy two hundred and the wards with eighty per cent and above marks are given rupees six thousand each to boost their talent in studies. The scheme covers the wards of police personnel from SPO to Inspector rank. (KNS)
