Jammu, Feb 19 (KNS): Dilbag Singh, Director General of Police, Prisons today took stock of situation on his visit to District Jail Anantnag. He was accompanied by DIG Prisons, Dr. Mohd Sultan Lone, SSP Anantnag, Altaf Khan, Commandant CRPF Bn. Amit Kumar and other senior officers. This was his first visit to Kashmir Province after taking over as Head of J&K Prisons Department.
During the visit, issues regarding security, management, and infrastructure were discussed. DGP Prisons also interacted with the inmates while making detailed round of inside and outside premises of the Institution and issued on-spot necessary instructions to address the genuine problems.
Later, the DGP Prisons paid a visit to Special Jail (Correctional Home) Pulwama to get familiarized with the institution, its working, and security as well as infrastructure requirements viz-a-viz gadgetry up-gradation.
During his visit to Special Jail Pulwama, the DGP chaired a high level security review meeting which was attended by DIG Police South Kashmir Range, Dr. Mohd Sultan Lone, DIG Prisons, Amit Kumar, SSP Pulwama Mohd Aslam, Addl. SP Pulwama, Chandan Kohli, DySP Zaheer Abbass, DySP Security IRP 18th Bn, Fahim Ali, besides DIG Prisons and other officers.
The DGP Prisons instructed the Jail Superintendents to follow the security protocol and adhere to the security procedures strictly. (KNS)
