Srinagar, Dec 12 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Party (DFP) has strongly condemned the merciless killing of a young lady, Misra Banoo, in Yunso, Handwara during a gunfight. The party secretary General Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari said in a statement that killing unarmed civilians is the worst kind of state terrorism and the people of Kashmir are facing it since decades now.
The irony is that whenever Kashmiri people try to raise their voice against such killings, they are being targeted by bullets, pellets, PAVA and tear smoke shells. They are even booked on fabricated charges and placed behind bars to rotten. Moulana Tari condemned the barbaric killing of Misra Banoo, of Yunsoo Handwara, and expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family. He also paid tributes to those martyred in the Handwara gunfight.
Meanwhile, the DFP Secretary General paid rich and glowing tributes to late Sofi Muhammad Akbar on his death anniversary. He said that Sofi Muhammad Akbar was a great patriot and a selfless leader who instead of power and authority chose the path of thorns and till his last breath remained steadfast with freedom movement and resisted tyranny and oppression. The path of struggle and resistance shown by this great soul is an example and beacon of light for us and today when we are recalling this great soul, we pledge to take forward his mission to its desired goal.
Moulana Tari said that ailing and incarcerated resistance leader and DFP chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah is a great admirer of late Sofi Muhammad Akbar and he always terms him an inspiration.
Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has also condoled the sad demise of Abdul Aziz Ganai of housing colony Chanapora Srinagar. The deceased was the father of Majid Mushtaq, an old friend and well wisher of the incarcerated DFP chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah.
