Stresses on discipline, peer learning, extra classes for weak students

Budgam, Mar 10 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today said that she will take weekly review of performances of all colleges and higher secondary schools during the upcoming academic session starting from March- 11 across the district.
These remarks were made by the DC while chairing a meeting to review the arrangements and preparedness for the conduct of next academic session at New Conference Hall, Budgam. The meeting was attended by SP Budgam Amod Ashok Nagpure, Dr. Bilal Mohi-U-Din Bhat, IAS Probationer, CEO Budgam, Fatima Tak, DEPO Budgam, Farooq Ahmad Raina. Principals of all degree Colleges and Higher Secondary schools were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, The DC stressed on the peaceful conduct of academic session in all colleges, higher secondary schools of the district. The DC directed the school authorities to conduct regular morning assemblies and lay stress on the moral education and importance of education for all.
Stressing on maintenance of discipline at all educational institutions, the DC directed Principals to ensure students attend their classes in proper uniforms and do not use cell phones inside school premise or indulge in any misconduct or indiscipline at school or outside it. She asked college/school heads to create checking squads and discipline committees to keep check on indisciplined activities by students. The DC also asked school/college heads to restrict entry of outsiders inside education institutions.
She also asked school authorities to remain in constant touch with the students and hold weekly counseling sessions with them particularly with weak students so that they excel in their studies. She also asked school/ college heads to hold regular Teacher- Parent meetings for better results.
Emphasizing on conducting of co-curricular activities at all education institutions, the DC asked concerned to involve students in sports, cultural and adventurous activities to boost them for more and more learning. She laid stress on holding extra classes and peer learning and group learning classes for students particularly for weak students for their better performance. The DC further directed the concerned to ensure all facilities are put in place at schools before their opening for the next academic session. (KNS)
