Congress urges J&K admin to take up issue of students stranded in foreign countries with MEA

Srinagar, 09 May, (KNS): Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Saturday urged J&K UT administration to take up the issue of evacuation of students stranded in Kirgizstan (Russia) and other Foreign Countries with Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
According to statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), JKPCC Vice-President Mohammad Anwar Bhat expressed serious concern over the hardships confronting stranded students in Kirgizstan and other Foreign Countries due to the lockdown in wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
“The stranded students have approached concerned authorities many times requesting for their evacuation, but there was reportedly no response on the part of neither UT of J&K nor MEA”, Congress leader alleged and “urged J&K administration to take up the matter with MEA for smooth return of evacuation of stranded students”.
He said, “I would request MEA and J&K UT to facilitate return of stranded students to the respective places in J&K, although hundreds of students have already returned to their homes, but those stranded in Kirgizstan Russia have been waiting for the response from the concerned authorities especially MEA”.
