Srinagar, Aug 20 (KNS): The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today paid floral tributes to Former Prime Minister Late. Rajiv Gandhi on his 74th Birth Anniversary and recalled his selfless services and sacrifices to the Nation.
The Party also described the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi as an irreparable loss to the Nation which can never be replaced by anything, saying that the Nation would continue to miss Rajiv Gandhi, who has taken the prestige of the Nation to the new heights in every respect.
In an extraordinary meeting held at Party Headquarter Srinagar, the Senior Party Leaders and functionaries paid floral tributes to Former Prime Minister on 74th Birth Anniversary and described him an inspiration for all the generations to come, describing the assassination of Former Prime Minister as an irreparable loss, which will never be replaced by anything.
He was a man of high values, visionary and an upright personality, who never disappointed any section of the people while having remained committed to the cause of serving people to the best of his ability. The departed leader introduced Panchayat Raj in the country in order to empower people, which proved a turning point in the development of people especially poor and down trodden sections from grass root level, they said.
The meeting was presided over by District President Srinagar Irfan Naqib and it was attended by Spokesperson Farooq Andrabi, General Secretaries Surinder Singh Channi, Shameema Iqbal, Senior Leaders Abdul Gani Khan, Mohd Sultan, DCC President Ganderbal Sahil Farooq and others, they paid floral tributes to Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The Participants while remembering Rajiv Gandhi on his Birth Anniversary said that the sacrifices of Gandhi Family can never forgotten, the Nation would continue to remain indebted to Gandhi family for their services and sacrifices, they added and said the Nation has lost a great and inspiring leader under the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, they said.
