Srinagar, Dec 28 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Saturday held a meeting of senior party leaders and workers to commemorate the completion of 134th year of Congress foundation day at Srinagar party headquarters and vowed to strengthen the party further at grass root level.
Addressing the meeting, the speakers asserted that Congress has the history of 134th years of service to the people; it will continue to fight for the development, security and safety of the people, besides working as a bridge between different communities living in the country irrespective of the colour or religion. “Congress has taken the prestige of the nation to the new heights in every respect bringing it at par with the powerful and fast developing countries of the world, which cannot be denied,” a spokesperson of the party said in a statement to KNS.
“Congress foundation is based on unity, harmony, progress and development of the nation, it will continue to serve the people to the best of its ability, no power on earth can weaken our party, for the fact, Congress party is strong enough to defeat the forces inimical to prosperity and security of the nation,” he said.
The leaders lashed at BJP over trying to “mislead” people about the Congress party in order to hide its “wrong policies and failures”, which will continue to remain main source behind disillusionment among the people in every state.
“The Congress party will continue to fight against the anti-people policies adopted by the BJP, besides countering and defeating false and fictious propaganda unleashed by it (BJP),” the speakers vowed to work for development of the people, saying that the party will continue to remain the secular identity of the nation, will not compromise on its stated position of strengthening the secularism, harmony and unity in the country.
They further said that Congress which is the India’s grand old secular party will “defeat the communal and fascist agenda of BJP-RSS.”
The meeting was chaired by senior Congress leader Abdul Gani Khan. Those who addressed the meeting included Haji Farooq Mir, Ab. Qayoom Shah, Gh. Mohi-u-Din Bhat, DCC Presidents, Gh. Rasool Malik (Tikri), Shameem Raina, Shameema Iqbal, Nissar Ahmad mandoo, Pir Nizam Din, Ghulam Mohammad Wani, Mushtaq Ahmad Bazaz, Mohammad Iqbal Mir, Nissar Ahmad Khan, Fayaz Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Aslam Dar, Bashir Ahmad Mir (Handwara), Shameema Mir, Shameem Sopori, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Zulfkar Qureshi, Rafiqa and others.
