Srinagar, Aug 03 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, Ghulam Ahmad Mir Saturday said that the party will raise question of uncertainty in Kashmir in the parliament on Monday.

Addressing a press conference at party headquarters here, Mir, accompanied by party’s senior leaders including former minister Taj Mohi-ud-din and Peerzada Syed expressed concern over the prevailing situation in the Valley.

“Congress during the meeting on Friday also passed a resolution in which it stated that any tinkering with Article 370 and Article 35A is unacceptable. The party has already cleared its stand that it is in the support of Article 370 and 35A as it is the only strongest bridge between Jammu and Kashmir and the union of India,” Mir said.

“Congress Member of Parliaments will also ask the government on Monday in parliament to clear its intentions and come clean over the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

Earlier in the day, National Conference (NC) vice president and former chief minister Omar Abdullah had also said that the centre should come clean over the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir during the parliament session on Monday.

Several mainstream party leaders since Friday evening called on Governor Satya Pal Malik to seek the clarification over the recent government orders that created panic in the Valley.

The Governor, however, has said that there was nothing to worry about as the apprehensions of people regarding the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A are only rumours. (KNS)
