‘Raising voice over burning, sensitive issues is a right of the Students’

Srinagar, Apr 22 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has said that closing educational institutions every now and then in the garb of stopping Student protests is a new imperialistic tactic to damage the educational future of the Kashmiri youth.
In a statement issued to KNS, JKDFP Secretary General, Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari while expressing anguish over the closing of Schools and Colleges frequently said that non seriousness towards education sector at administrative level is sure to have negative impact on the future of Kashmir.
Moulana Tari said that raising voice over burning and sensitive issues is a right of the Students and if this community keeps mum over issues it means that our future would be in the hands of insensitive people.
Moulana Tari said that every civilized society and government has always accepted and honoured the student voices but it is utmost unfortunate that even students are being harassed and treated as criminals in Kashmir. Moulana Tari said that threatening Students will yield nothing but disaster. He said that using police against the youth at every step has injured the self respect of the Students so whenever they get any chance they try to give vent to their anger and political aspirations. He expressed dismay over the injuring of many students recently and prayed for their speedy recovery.
Moulana Tari however stressed upon the Students to take their education very seriously and achieve a place where they can advocate their right to self determination more strongly and vigorously. The Student community is our future and we cannot remain insensitive regarding their education. We strongly stress upon the administration not to spoil the future of our nation by placing curbs on Schools and Colleges. Our Students are fully aware of their responsibilities and cannot remain mute spectators to the day today happenings in the disputed region. Moulana Tari however appealed the Students to empower themselves with knowledge so that our freedom struggle passes on to the educated citizens. (KNS)
