Hails Interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma for his concern

Srinagar, Mar 08 (KNS): Emphasizing that killing of innocent people must end in Kashmir especially in South Kashmir, Senior Congress leader Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday described the recent killings in Shopian as tragic, saying that Mehbooba Mufti Govt must put an end to the killings to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the valley.
Khanday according to the statement issued to KNS also hailed the statement of Dineshwar Sharma who has also expressed serious concern over the Shopian killings urging upon him to make serious efforts to restore confidence of the people by ensuring their safety, for the fact, the cycle of violence has badly hit the peace initiative taken by him (Dineshwar Sharma).
Stating that State Govt led by Mehbooba Mufti has miserably failed to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the valley, Senior Congress Leader expressed serious concern over the civilian killings, saying that the cycle of violence must end, as that, the unabated killings has deepened the alienation among the people responsible for volatile situation.
He also urged upon the Security Forces to exercise restraint while dealing with the militant related activities because the blood bath of civilian is not going to serve any purpose, rather it will further vitiate the atmosphere in the valley, he added.
He said the killing of civilians cannot be justified by anything emphasizing the need to make the security forces accountable and answerable for innocent civilian killings. (KNS)
