Srinagar, Aug 24 (KNS): The Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, visited the Chinar Corps today to review the overall security situation prevailing in the Valley.
On arrival, the COAS interacted with the former Governor of J&K N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar.
Later in the day the COAS was given an update by the Chinar Corps Commander in Badami Bagh Cantonment on the latest security scenario in the Kashmir Valley including details of Counter Infiltration and Counter Militant Operations undertaken in the recent past and the Amarnath Yatra. He was appreciative of the measures initiated which have contributed significantly towards improving the security situation. The COAS also interacted with other senior functionaries of the Security Forces. (KNS)
