Srinagar, Nov 24 (KNS): Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemned what they termed as ‘the cold blooded murder’ of another youth, Ishfaq Ahmad (28 years), son of Nazir Ahmad Ganaie of Magraypora Chadoora in district Budgam.
JeI in a statement issued to KNS said that “the youth was killed by unruly Indian forces (55RR camp) personnel without any justification while he was driving his scooter on Chatergam-Gowharpora road near Zenipora crossing by hitting him with several bullet shots in the evening on 23rd of November.”
“The bullets ruptured his skull, causing his death soon thereafter,” JeI said.
The statement added that “the youth was a carpenter by profession and is survived by his wife and two children. In the same fashion, the personnel belonging to the same camp murdered two persons from Nowgam in the recent past and no one was tried or punished for the gruesome crime as they have free license to kill or injure any Kashmiri at their will for being immune from any legal action under the meticulously drafted draconian black law viz Armed Forces Special Powers Act.”
“This law stands in force only in Kashmir to suppress the genuine voice of the oppressed people who have been forcibly subjugated against their will. The silence of the international organizations and human rights bodies and watching the state sponsored terrorism against the common masses as mute spectators is most regrettable adversely affecting the credibility and image of these very institutions,” JeI said.
Jama’at-e-Islami demanded a high-level probe by some impartial judicial agency so as to bring the real culprits to book and get them appropriately punished. (KNS)
