Srinagar, Dec 29 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) on Sunday said the recent order by the governor administration of withdrawing of the two holidays from the calendar, Martyr’s Day and birth anniversary of NC founder late Shiekh Mohammad Abdullah, is unfortunate.
In statement issued to KNS a PDF spokesperson said such activities won’t change the history as “people won’t forget the struggle of martyrs.”
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir are proud on the martyrs of 1931 and cancellation of holiday will not let them down. The government is rubbing salt on the recent wounds of the people of J&K,” he said and added cancellation of political leader’s birthday will not forget him from the history.
The spokesman said the recent order from the governor administration was “anti people attitude.” “The Center government should take care of the emotions of the people and instead of doing such things it should try to win the hearts of Kashmiri people,” he added. (KNS)
