Srinagar, Feb 12 (KNS): One Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable was Monday killed while a constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police sustained injuries in an ongoing encounter that raged between forces and militants in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar, officials said.
PRO CRPF, Rajesh Yadav told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that a CRPF constable identified as Mujahid Khan of Bihar who had sustained injuries during the gunfight succumbed to his injuries in the morning.
He said that a constable of JKP has also sustained injuries in an ongoing encounter and is being treated. “The encounter is still on. There is no information about any militant killing in an ongoing encounter at Karan Nagar so far,” he said.
Earlier, JKP on its official twitter handle had informed that a policeman has got injured in gunfight and is stable. “The injured policeman is being treated,” police said.
