Vohra reiterates his concern about ensuring prompt attention to public grievances

Jammu, Nov 09 (KNS): Mehbooba Mufti, Chief Minister, held an hour long meeting today evening with Governor N.N. Vohra and discussed with him various important matters relating to the affairs of the State.
Governor and Mufti discussed, among other matters, the internal security situation in the Valley, the functioning of various departments, particularly the Power Development Department, Social Welfare Department, Information Department, and the Sports and Youth Affairs Department and the extent to which results had been achieved to secure the targeted goals.
Governor suggested to Chief Minister the enforcement of a stringent approach in regard to all departments which were not performing adequately.
Governor also discussed with Mufti the significant advantage of there being no delay in commencing the process of conducting elections to the Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies.
Governor reiterated his concern about ensuring prompt attention to public grievances, efficient delivery of public services and severe punishments to those involved in corrupt practices. (KNS)
