Srinagar, Nov 25 (KNS): A bullet-riddled body of 23-year-old Territorial Army man Irfan Ahmad Dar was found in an orchard in Watmullah Keegam area in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Saturday.
Dar was a resident of Sezan Keegam and was posted in Bandipora district and was on leave.
Army spokesman said that Sepoy Irfan Ahmad Dar son of Gh Mohd Dar, of village Senzen, Shopian district was a serving soldier.
“The individual was posted in a Territorial Army unit in Bandipora district. He was on leave till 26 November 2017. While on leave, he was possibly abducted and killed by terrorists. The matter is being investigated by the Police,” the spokesman said.
He said Dar was with175 Territorial Army (Engineers) and had come home on leave.
SSP Shopian, Shriram A Dinkar told KNS that police has started investigation into the case to “identify which militant groups is involved in the murder. (KNS)
