Srinagar, Nov 17 (KNS): The upper areas of central Kashmir’s Budgam district Friday received season’s first snowfall while light to moderate rain was received in the plain areas including Srinagar.
After Gulmarg and Sonamarg-the two famous tourist resorts, snowfall was witnessed in upper areas of Budgam district which include Dodhpathri, Gogaldara, Yousmarg, Tosa Maidan, Sutharan and upper reaches of Khan Sahab.
Earlier, Director Meteorological department, Sonam Lotus had predicted a spell of light rain in plains and light snowfall in hills between November 14 and 15.
“A Western Disturbance is approaching that will subsequently results in rains in plains and snow at hills, he had said.
However, the clouds continue to hover over valley with more rain or snowfall expected in some other areas. (KNS)
