Representatives of different art forms, civil society pledge for pan state umbrella organization

Srinagar, Jun 21 (KNS): Furthering the recent initiative of state’s largest organization Adbee Markaz Kamraz to revitalize and unite for preserving and promoting distant cultural Identities and Ethos and connect younger generation with it.

A meeting of representatives of various cultural organizations, prominent members of Civil society and renowned writers was held today to work out the proposals for the pan state umbrella organization.

Former chairman of the state Public Service Commission Mohd Shafi Pandit presided the meeting which was attended among others by noted academician Prof Farooq Fayaz, Former Secretary JKAACL Dr. Aziz Hajini, Yousuf Jahangeer Prisedent Maraz Adbi Sangam, Hilal Fayaz representatives of Kashmiri Language Union. The other members of the core Group including Ayash Arif, Ranjoor Tilgami, Mushtaq Ahmad Mushtaq, Manshoor Banhali, Mohammed Amin Bhat, Tanveer Ahmad Reshi, and Mohi-u-Din Ajiz, Ab Khaliq Shamas, Jameel Ansari who were earlier nominated in this regard also participated in the deliberations and explained the proposals they have drafted.

It was unanimously decided that work initiated for formation of umbrella organization will continue to strive for the broader outlined objectives. The participants in one voice resolved that all organizations are in line with the overall objective of promotion of Art and Culture in all farms is appreciable and would work for achieving the goal without any bias or prejudice.

The core group was advised to fine tune the draft proposal before convening the next meeting at Jammu. The Name proposed for the new umbrella organization is Jammu & Kashmir Cultural Foundation.

Efforts shall be made to include representatives of all the registered literary and Cultural organizations of Jammu and Kashmir in the proposed amalgam and genuine representatives of civil society shall be nominated by the newly constituted General Council. Every exercise in respect of constitution of executive board and election of office bearers shall purely be done in a democratic manner and nobody will be allowed to emerge as a self styled exploiter.
