Says ‘will walk on footprints of late Abdul Gani Lone’

Srinagar, Jan 30 (KNS): Senior Hurriyat leader, Bilal Gani Lone on Wednesday renamed his faction of Peoples Conference as J&K Peoples Independent Movement.
He renamed his party at a time his brother Sajjad Gani Lone is leading a viable third front in mainstream politics for the upcoming elections.
As per KNS correspondent, talking to reporters here along with Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Bilal said he will “permanently stay in pro-freedom politics” because that is “the right path” and “the true legacy of his late father Abdul Gani Lone”.
Lone said that that there was confusion over the party’s name, therefore it was inevitable to rename the party. “Nobody else could end the confusion on party’s name. So, I went ahead to change the name of party from Peoples Conference to Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Independent Movement, which is part and parcel of the Hurriyat Conference (M) headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq,” he said.
He added that they are with the movement and will walk on the footprints of Abdul Gani Lone. (KNS)
