Srinagar, Aug 23 (KNS): Former legislator and journalist, Nizamuddin Bhat has condoled the demise of eminent journalist and writer Kuldeep Nayyar.
In a statement, Bhat said that Nayar's departure is a huge loss to tradition of impartial and unbiased journalism. He said it is also a loss to society which faces danger of degeneration in values and ethos.
Expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, Bhat said all his fans and well wishers have loved Nayar as a distinguished journalist even as he ably served as a diplomat and parliamentarian.
Bhat said India's fourth estate had flourished because of committed and dedicated media luminaries like Nayar.
"The best tribute to him will be to save media from jingoism and sensationalism and save well- established tradition of value- based journalism," he added. (KNS)
