‘Preparation ongoing, CM to file nomination paper on Tue’

Srinagar, May 30 (KNS): Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Jammu and Kashmir, Shantmanu, on Monday said besides state police, 40 additional Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been called for Anantnag polls, slated to be held in next month.
Shantmanu told KNS that the preparation for Anantnag polls is ongoing. “The committees have been formulated for every activity of polls. Three Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) have been deputed in Kashmir while three others have been deputed in Udhampur, Jammu and Delhi each for migrants,” he said.
He said that only two candidates have so far filed their nomination papers while Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is going to file her nomination papers on Tuesday (May 31).
Shantmanu told KNS that nine candidates, aspiring to contest in elections have received the forms but among them only two have filed papers.
“Besides state police, 40 additional companies of CAPF have been called for the polls,” he said. (KNS)
