Baramulla girl operated twice due to ‘negligence’ of doctors

Srinagar, Nov 22 (KNS): An 18-year-old girl, who had been operated at District Hospital Baramulla, had to undergo another surgery four days back due to the alleged negligence of the doctors.

Abdul Gani Lone of Hardu-Chanam Rafiabad in Baramulla told KNS that his daughter was operated at district hospital Baramulla for appendicitis problem. “However, after the surgery the pain didn’t subside and we had to take her to various doctors for treatment. I had to spend a huge amount on the treatment,” he said.

“A few days back when the pain became unbearable, she was again taken to the hospital, where she was operated again and a needle which had remained in her abdomen in 2018 due to the negligence of the doctors was removed,” Lone alleged.

When contacted Medical Superintend District Hospital Baramulla, Dr Masood told KNS that the complaint had been brought to his notice and the issue was under investigation. (KNS)
