Srinagar, July 28 (KNS): J&K UT Congress President Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Tuesday lashed out at BJP Government over repealing Article 370 through “unconstitutional” and “undemocratic” methods and said people were shown green garden in its background who later on proved “mirage”.
While talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Congress leader said the Parliament of the country has a right to take decisions while taking people and elected representatives into account but when it comes to annulment of Article 370 & 35(A), BJP resorted to “unconstitutional” and “undemocratic” way.
He said Congress party had already expressed its concern over the decision in which BJP government dishonored J&K and divided it into “bits”.
“Prior to abrogation of Article 370 and 35(A), people were plunged into darkness, voices were throttled and people in bulk were detained which was the dishonor to J&K”, Congress UT President said.
“People were shown green gardens of development at the time of annulment but after a year has been passed now, no sign of development is visible in J&K. Water scarcity, electricity shortage, unemployment etc are increasing day by day”, he added.
Lashing out at BJP, Congress leader G A Mir said that due to wrong policies of BJP, J&K has lost what it had”, adding “BJP is trying to divert people’s attention from core issue resulting alienation growing among people of J&K who will give a befitting reply to these anti-people actions but an appropriate time”.
“Our concerns about the decisions taken on August 5 last year are almost same even today”, he added. (KNS)
