Anantnag, Oct 28 (KNS): BDC chairperson of south Kashmir's Khoveripora Mattan of Anantnag district Wednesday levelled serious allegation against BDO, saying the officer has violated the protocol while taking his junior into account for taking decisons about affairs in the block.
Talking exclusively with Kashmir News Service (KNS), BDC chairperson Abdul Majid Bhat alleged that being a vital functionary in the block I am being ignored by BDO repeatedly, resulting the importance of my stature has been lowered.
He said I have never been taken into account while taking key decisions in the block by concerned Block Development Officer. "Be it distribution of face masks, sports kits or transfer of employees, I am existing nowhere in the block as no decision is being shared with me", he said.
He alleged that there has been huge embezzlement of funds in procuring face masks and cricket kits, and appealed higher authorities to investigate the matter.
He said I have presided at least 20 meetings of Panchs and Sirpanchs in which the concerned BDO never took part.
"One year has been passed now since I assumed chair of BDC. Government is all set to conduct new election in J&K. I think the post of BDC in Panchayti Raj system is useless and futile", anguished BDC said.
Termed the role of BDO as "autocratic", he said I have been even removed from the official message group of the block through which I was being updated about the functioning of block activities.
He appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, DC Anantnag and other concerned officials to withdraw my security and stop the honorarium I am getting at present, and appoint some other person, or intervene into the matter for its resolution. (KNS)
