Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNS): Sixty donors Monday donated blood during a blood donation camp in Srinagar. The camp was organised by an NGO called BASERA (The Home Society) at Mehjoor Nagar which observed its 10th Annual Day today. Retired High Court Judge Justice B A Kirmani was the Chief Guest whereas former bureaucrat M.Shafi Pandith was guest of honour, Nayeema Ahamad Mehjoor, Nighat Shafi, Dr.Mohd Saleem and other were also present on the occasion.
The BASERA Chairman Sheikh Bashir Ahmad on the occasion said that the main motive of the organisation was to serve people. He said the orphan girls are being provided sewing machines and computers.
General Manager Tauseef Ahmad said that BASERA has made thyroid testing machines available and the full T3, T4, TSH tests are being done for 150 rupees only.
On the occasion KNS correspondent Mohammad Lateef Bhat and BMO Pattan Dr Masrat Iqbal were awarded. (KNS)
