Demands independent probe, protection to the prisoners

Srinagar, Dec 01 (KNS): Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) president, Abdul Qayoom Wani on Thursday condemned the ‘murderous attack’ on Kashmiri prisoners and termed this incident as ‘shameful and inhuman’.
In a statement issued to KNS, Wani said that this is the prime duty of jail authorities to protect the life of prisoners and treat them humanly with human attitude. “But such type of incidents speaks volumes of discriminatory attitude of authorities of Tihar jail which needs to be condemned by every human being,” he said
Wani urged upon the state government especially Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for personal interference in the issue so that such type of incidents may not occur in future.
Wani demanded an independent probe into this ‘shameful incident’ to ensure the safety of Kashmiri prisoners so that “the families in general and the prisoners in particular will not feel the sense of insecurity”. (KNS)
