Stay away from encounter sites: Police to people

Srinagar, Dec 08 (KNS): A civilian was killed after protesters tried to march towards an ongoing encounter site at Hassanpora in Arwani area of south Kashmir’s Bijbehara town on Thursday.
The encounter which is still continuing had erupted on Wednesday in the village in which three militants are believed to be trapped in.
Special DGP Coordination, Law & order, Dr. S.P Vaid told KNS the encounter is still continuing. “One body is seen near the encounter site. But we have not recovered it as the other militants holed up in the building are still firing gun shots. The encounter is still continuing,” he told KNS.
Meanwhile, police in a statement issued to KNS said that at some distance from the encounter site, a stray bullet hit a person identified as Arif Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Khalil Shah of Gund Baba, Sangam. Shah later succumbed to his injuries.
Police has appealed to the people not to assemble or come close to the encounter sites as there is every chance that stray bullets may hit them and they make get injured. (KNS)
