Developmental projects stalled on frivolous reasons: Ab. Rahim Rather

Srinagar, September 23 (KNS): Apni Party district president Anantnag and former legislator Abdul Rahim Rather on Wednesday expressed dismay and anguish for the delay in the completion of various development projects that were taken up during his tenure as MLA Kokernag.
In a statement issued to KNS, Rather said: “The up-gradation of road from Hangalgund to Pazipora was taken up by the PMGSY and the part of the road from Hangalgund to Nagam is still untouched which is a matter of concern for the locals.”
Rather has impressed upon the revenue authorities to provide the required documents and other information to the executing agency which as per the later has been the cause of delay in the completion of the project.
“One more project namely construction of road from Tass Pora Gadole to Upper Gadol has also been kept incomplete and the people of the area, which comprises several villages, are aghast and have been protesting against the department for the delay. Although the earthwork has been done long back, its metalling has been kept pending for the unknown reasons”, he said.
He has stressed upon the government for initiation of the necessary steps at an early so that these works are completed within this working season only. Rather said that many other important developmental projects in the entire Kokernag are stalled by the concerned departments citing frivolous reasons. He urged the district development commissioner Anantnag to intervene into the matter and issue the orders accordingly.(KNS)
